This taco casserole is a quick and cheesy dinner made with seasoned ground beef, tortillas, salsa con queso, and melted cheese. It’s easy to prepare and perfect for weeknight dinners.
1 lb ground beef
1½ tbsp taco seasoning
½ cup water
½ cup salsa con queso
3 (8-inch) flour tortillas
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
Sour cream for serving
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and heat oil in a skillet.
2. Cook ground beef until browned.
3. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer for 2–3 minutes.
4. Stir in salsa con queso and remove from heat.
5. Place tortilla in baking dish.
6. Add 1/3 beef mixture and 1/3 cheese.
7. Repeat layers two more times.
8. Bake for 20 minutes until cheese melts.
9. Cool slightly and slice before serving.
Allow casserole to rest before slicing.
Corn tortillas can replace flour tortillas.
Top with sour cream, cilantro, or avocado.
