A flavor-packed, one-pan American meal combining tender ground beef, spiced ketchup sauce, and crispy potatoes for a hearty, family-friendly dish. Ready in 40 minutes with simple ingredients.
1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
4 medium potatoes, diced
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ground beef until browned, then drain excess fat.
Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened (5-7 minutes).
Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.
Add diced potatoes and stir to coat. Cover and cook 10-15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Serve immediately, or top with optional cheese and garnish with parsley.
Use ground turkey for a leaner option.
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with crumbled tofu or lentils.
Adjust cheese type or amount to preference.
Ensure potatoes are cut evenly for uniform cooking.
Worcestershire sauce can be omitted if avoiding anchovies (use tamari-based alternatives if necessary).
