1 cup Lump Crab Meat (picked clean)
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce (ensure alcohol-free)
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
1 large Egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, gently combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper, being careful not to break up the crab lumps.
Stir in half of the panko breadcrumbs and the lightly beaten egg until just incorporated.
Shape the mixture into 12 small, uniform balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops of each crab bomb with the melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining panko breadcrumbs.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and heated through.
Serve immediately while warm.
Handle the crab meat very gently to maintain large lumps for the best texture. Always double-check that your Worcestershire sauce is vinegar-based and contains no alcohol additives. If you prefer extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
