This homemade orange candy is a soft, chewy treat made with fresh citrus juice, sugar, and gelatin. Inspired by traditional Mexican dulces, it’s perfect for sharing or gifting.

Ingredients

3 medium oranges

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup corn syrup

1 tbsp gelatin

1/4 cup water

1 tbsp butter

1 cup confectioners’ sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

1. Zest and juice oranges (about 3/4 cup juice)

2. In a saucepan, combine juice, water, sugar, and corn syrup; simmer 5 min

3. Bloom gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water, then add to syrup

4. Stir in zest and butter; cook 5–10 min until thick

5. Pour into dish; chill 4–6 hrs or overnight

6. Cut pieces and dust with sugar

Notes

Store in airtight container at room temp for 1 week or refrigerate for 2 weeks. Use fresh oranges for best flavor.
