Ingredients
For the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
For the Cream Cheese Filling
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
For the Dough Layers
2 (8 oz) cans Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon until well mixed. Set this mixture aside for later use.
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Continue beating until the mixture is smooth and creamy, then set aside.
Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Evenly sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture across the bottom of the pan.
Unroll one can of dough onto a lightly floured piece of parchment paper. Press all seams together to form one solid sheet. Carefully transfer it into the prepared pan over the cinnamon sugar layer, pressing it gently to fit snugly against the edges.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough layer using a spatula.
Unroll the second can of dough just like before, sealing the seams. Place it carefully over the cream cheese filling to create the top layer.
Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top layer of dough.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown. Let cool slightly, then enjoy your delicious churro cheesecake bars!
Notes
Use Room Temperature Cream Cheese
Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing. This helps create a smooth, lump-free filling that spreads easily.
Don’t Skip the Cinnamon Sugar
Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture for the best flavor and texture. It creates that classic churro-style crust everyone loves.
Bake Until Golden
Keep an eye on the bars as they bake. The top should turn light golden brown, which means they are fully cooked and ready.
Let Them Cool Completely
Allow the bars to cool fully before cutting. This helps them set properly and makes it easier to slice into clean, neat squares.
