Cheese Sauce for Fries is a smooth, creamy cheddar sauce made with butter, flour, milk, and freshly shredded cheese. Perfect for fries, nachos, and game day snacks.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk (warm)

1 1/2 cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

Salt to taste

Pinch of cayenne (optional)

Instructions

1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium-low heat.

2. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes.

3. Slowly whisk in warm milk and cook until thickened.

4. Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheese gradually.

5. Add seasonings and stir until smooth.

6. Adjust consistency with milk if needed.

7. Serve immediately over hot fries.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese.
