Broccoli Ranch Salad is a creamy, crunchy summer side dish made with fresh broccoli, bacon, cheddar cheese, and homemade ranch dressing. Add seasonal fruit and nuts for a fresh warm-weather twist.
5 cups fresh broccoli florets
1/3 cup red onion, thinly sliced
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, cubed or shredded
6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried dill
Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: strawberries, grapes, blueberries, almonds, pecans, or sunflower seeds
1. Wash and thoroughly dry broccoli. Cut into small bite-sized florets.
2. Cook bacon until crispy. Drain and chop.
3. Whisk mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, garlic powder, dill, salt, and pepper to make ranch dressing.
4. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, onion, cheese, and bacon.
5. Pour dressing over salad and toss until evenly coated.
6. Fold in seasonal fruit and nuts if using.
7. Chill 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
Dry broccoli completely before mixing.
Add nuts just before serving to keep them crunchy.
Can be made 24 hours ahead.
