Ingredients
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp red food coloring
Optional: 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 inch pan and spray with oil.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
4. Add eggs, vanilla, and red coloring. Mix.
5. Add dry ingredients until soft dough forms.
6. Press into pan. Bake 20 minutes or until set.
7. Cool completely before frosting.
8. Beat cream cheese and butter. Add sugar and vanilla. Beat smooth. Spread.
Notes
Optional cinnamon adds subtle warmth.
Store in fridge up to 5 days or freeze unfrosted bars.
